The Island
Thitu Island (Pagasa in Filipino) is the second largest island in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. The island has a landing strip (Rancudo Airfield) and a small harbour.
There are 100 inhabitants, mostly military, fishermen and a weatherman.
A view of the island shows the landing strip apparently covered in sand and taking up a disproportionately large amount of area of the island.
